Assignment

Each student will write a major reseach paper (16-20 pages) on a subject (previously agreed upon with the professor) relevant to the course. The research for the paper should draw upon both seconday and primary sources. A proposal and preliminary bibliography for the paper are due in class on October 15th. At the end of the semester, students will make oral presentations on their papers.

Successful papers will satisfy the College post-fresman writing requirement and the History Department junior/senior paper requirement.
