Research Guide to Japanese Studies: Getting Started

Provides a guide to find materials relevant to Japanese studies

Introduction

This guide is intended to help you find materials relevant to Japanese studies. Resources introduced here include Emory’s libraries catalogs, the libraries’ subscription databases, and free online resources.

The guide is organized in three sections:

(1) Reference tools. This section includes reference tools in English and Japanese. Each of these tools is either a subscription database or a free online resource.

(2) Finding English materials. This section helps you find materials in the English language.

(3) Finding Japanese materials. This section helps you find materials in the Japanese language and provides guidance in how to obtain them.  It also offers some search tips (e.g., information on the Romanization system).
