Preservation and Conservation: Conservation Projects

Environmental Monitoring

The Preservation Office is responsible for monitoring the environmental conditions in all the Emory libraries, predominately focusing on MARBL, the special collections areas at the Pitts Theology Library, and the off-site Storage Library.

Hygrothermographs and dataloggers are used to collect temperature and relative humidity data, which are then analyzed and shared with both library and campus facilities staff in order to ensure that conditions appropriate for the storage of book and paper materials are maintained.
