Unlike paper books, electronic books are not available for interlibrary loan, primarily due to the types of licensing agreements in place between libraries and publishers to distribute e-books. As e-books become more popular in the marketplace, ILL may become a possibility.
Finding e-books in discoverE begins when you conduct your first search. On the left-hand side of the results screen, you will see a listing called "Refine My Results." Click on "Full Text Online" to limit to online items, then on the left-hand side of the results screen, under "Resource Type," click on "eBooks." If you wish to limit a search just to ebooks, you can also use the Advanced Search.
The most direct way to request the purchase of library materials is to contact your subject liaison.
You can fill out this form to request that the library purchase specific materials, but please note that this is not an order form. Requests must be processed through normal library channels before being ordered.
Emory Libraries subscribe to the Overdrive reading collection, which includes mostly popular titles. Students, faculty, and staff members with valid Emory University IDs may check out up to two materials for a period of two weeks. Overdrive e-books cannot be recalled like books from the regular collection. Titles and availability vary.
