FILM 406 - Columbia Pictures - Bernstein

February 2 Assignment

By Friday, February 2 at 5pm, please email James Steffen and Matthew Bernstein the following:

One scholarly book (preferably by a university press) and one scholarly journal article (by a reputable, peer-reviewed journal such as Cinema Journal or Film History) that seem relevant to your research question.

For each entry, explain in one or two sentences why you think they might be relevant.

Format both entries according to Chicago Manual of Style. (See the Citing Sources page on this guide for more information.) Please send the entries as formatted text in the body of the email, not as attachments.

Examples:

  • Doherty, Thomas. Hollywood's Censor: Joseph I. Breen and the Production Code Administration. New York, NY: Columbia UP, 2009.
  • Jacobs, Lea. "The Innovation of Re-Recording in the Hollywood Studios." Film History: An International Journal 24, no. 1 (2012): 5-34.
