Some
commonly asked questions are listed below. Please read them before submitting
your question.
Q. I'm a visitor. Can I use the
library?
A. Visitors are welcome to use the Woodruff Library's print and microforms
collections after first checking in at the security desk with a photo ID (please note
that visitors are not admitted after 9:00 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, nor
after 4:00 p.m. daily during the spring and fall examination periods). There are two
computer workstations available for internet access for visitors. Borrowing
privileges may be purchased by the general public for $75.00 for six months
or $100.00 for one year. Other Emory Libraries visitor information: Music & Media Library, Manuscript, Archives and Rare Book
Library, Health Sciences Library, Law Library, Theology Library.
Q. I'm a student from a local
university. Can I check out materials from Emory's libraries?
A. Students from Emory, Georgia
Tech, GSU and UGA can check out materials from all four schools' libraries
using their student ID cards. Students from schools that participate in the
Atlanta area ARCHE program must obtain an interlibrary use card from their
home library before checking out materials from Emory.
Q. Do the Emory libraries own a particular book, journal
or other item?

Q.
Emory doesn't own the book/journal I need. How can I get it?
A. Emory students, faculty and staff can request items from other libraries
via Interlibrary Loan. For more information about Interlibrary Loan
policies and procedures, click here.
Q. Is the journal article I want available in full-text
online?
A. Look up the title of the
journal in discoverE. Most journals with online access have a link labeled
"Electronic access" after the title. Most online journals are
available to Emory faculty, students, and staff only; other users will need
to come to the library to consult the paper copy.
Q. I'm an Emory user connecting from off-campus.
What resources do I have access to?
A. discoverE catalog access is available to anyone with internet
access. Access to most databases is provided for Emory faculty, students, and
staff only. For further information, consult the off-campus access information page.
Q. I need assistance with manuscripts, rare books, or
Emory University archives. Can you help me?
A. Most special collections items are cataloged in discoverE, so
check there first. If you still need assistance, consult the MARBL
FAQ page for more information.
Q.
How do I renew my books online, see if I have fines, check on items I've
requested, or see what books I have checked out?
A. Go to EUCLID and
click on the small dark blue “My Account” button at the top of the page. You
will need your Emory NetId and password. For any questions about these services,
contact the Circulation Department at 404-727-6873.
Q.
The item I want is checked out, in storage, or at the Oxford library. How can I
get it? A. Go to EUCLID and display the item you want. Click the “Request”
button at the top or bottom of the page and select the type of request you want
to make (recall, storage or Atlanta-Oxford loan). You will need your Emory
NetId and password. (Non-Emory users should contact the Circulation Department at
