Circulation Policies for DVD-LEND

  • 2 items at a time per patron.
  • All items are due at 3 p.m. on the 2nd day after checkout, including weekends, except days on which the library is closed.
  • No renewals and no re-checkout upon returning an item.
  • Retain your checkout receipt for verification of the due date.
  • Returns must be made directly to the Music and Media Library service desk during operating hours.

A valid picture ID is required at checkout. Privileges are not transferable: the borrower must come in person to the library.

DVDs are available on a first-come, first-served basis. The library does not offer reservations, and recalls may not be placed through EUCLID. Library staff will, however, attempt to accommodate any special course-related need upon request.

Overdue Fines

 Overdue fines:

For the first 3 days: $1.00 per day or portion of a day

After 3 days: $5.00 per day or portion of a day.

For calculation of fines, a new day begins at 3:00 p.m.

For example: for a DVD due Monday and

returned Tuesday before 3 p.m.: fine is $1.
returned Tuesday at or after 3 p.m.: fine is $2.

Grace period: items returned before closing on the date due will not incur a fine.

After 12 Days:

Titles not returned within 12 days of the date due will be declared lost. The borrower will be billed for the replacement cost ($30 or the actual cost of the item, whichever is greater) plus the maximum overdue fine of $35, plus a $15 processing fee, for a total of $80 minimum. The processing fee and fine are not refundable. The replacement cost may be waived if the item is returned within 21 days of the date of billing.

Patrons who fail to return items needed for class or repeatedly fail to return other DVDs risk loss or suspension of privileges.
