Finding DVD-LENDs with DiscoverE
DVD-LENDs and other media items are fully searchable in DiscoverE, the Emory Libraries' new way to find library resources.
In the main search box you can simply enter a phrase (for example, the film title "Citizen Kane") if you want to look for all books, videos and other resources related to that topic. This will pull up ALL videos, including DVDs that are not part of the Lending Collection.
To look for DVD-LENDs specifically, try entering a combination of keywords such as "Alfred Hitchcock DVD-LEND." The latter will search for all DVD-LENDs with "Alfred Hitchcock" anywhere in the item description.
- If you want to limit your search more precisely to DVD-LENDs by an individual author/director, click on the "Advanced Search" link:

- Then enter "DVD-LEND" in the "Any" field and the name of the author in the "author/creator" field:

- Let's say you decide to watch Hitchcock's Rear Window after you find it in the search results. You can find the call number by clicking on the "Locations field." A new balloon will pop up:

- Be sure to make note of the call number, as you will need it when you check out the DVD from the Music and Media Library.
- I also recommend that you click on "Available (Get It)" link to view the holdings more closely:

- Checking availability is advisable because sometimes we have two copies of a DVD, and the DVD-LEND may be checked out. When you click on the link, it will take you to the actual item record in EUCLID, the library catalog.
- Scroll down to the bottom of the page to see specific library holdings information:

In this care, we have two DVD-LEND copies, and they're both on the shelf.
You're set to go!
