Equipment Collections at Emory

The Audio/Visuals Collection at the Roberts W. Woodruff Library's Music and Media Library is a pool of audio visuals equipment, readily available for the Emory community.

Borrowing Policies

This equipment may be checked out from the Music and Media desk and is due back within three hours from check-out or when the Heilbrun library closes.

These items cannot be renewed.  

This equipment is for use in the Woodruff Main Library complex only (includes the Matheson reading room, the stacks tower, and all classroom/study spaces within the main library).

Overdue fines are $1.00 per hour.

Accessibility Equipment

We have a small collection of items that are available to all patrons who visit.  These items are for accessing the Audio/Visual collection onsite at the Heilbrun Music & Media LIbrary:

Headphones

The library currently offers two brands of over-the-ear stereo headphones: Schoolmate and Panasonic.  The Schoolmate headphones are older models that offer volume control on the headset itself, the Panasonic model is not adjustable on the headset, but is lighter weight.  If you require Mono Headphones, rather than Stereo, one Telex Mono headphone set is also available.  Please specify that you need the mono set rather than stereo at the Music and Media desk.

Overdue Fines: $1.00 per hour

Headphone Adapters

The library offers several headphone adapters. 1/8th inch to 1/4 inch, 1/4 inch to 1/8th inch and dual 1/4th inch to 1/4th inch "splitter" adapters.

Overdue Fines: $1.00 per hour

Remote Controls for each of the audio/visual carrels are also available upon request.

Additional Accessories

The majority of our 3-hour collection circulates to current Emory faculty, staff, and students ONLY.

For Mobile Devices:

The library currently offers three USB cables: Thunderbolt (for iPhone 5+ and iPad 2+), 30-Pin (for iPhone 4 and earlier, for iPad 1), Micro-USB (for most android devices).  Wall adapters circulate separately.

Laptop Power Supply:

The library currently offers three laptop adapters: Magsafe (older model MacBook/Pro), Magsafe II (newer model MacBook/Air/Pro) and Dell laptop chargers.

Calculators:


TI-84 Plus Graphing Calculator (Library Use Only)

The TI-84 Plus Graphing Calculator is intended for use in the library only.  The library only circulates the calculator itself, not any accompanying cables.

Each calculator comes with its protective cover.

User Manual:

As a courtesy for exams that do not allow graphing calculators, the library also has a small collection of TI-36x Pro solar scientific calculators that can be checked out for up to three days at a time.  Please see the Accessories (External Circ) tab for more information.

HDMI Cable

HDMI cables are the current standard for HD audio and video signals. Use this cable to send audio and video from some computers, Blu-ray players and HD game consoles to HD monitors, projectors and televisions.

Note: In addition to our library-use only collection, we also have HDMI cables in our 1-week circulating collection.  If you need a circulating HDMI cable, please specify that at the Music and Media desk.

3D Glasses Set

3-D GlassesThe library currently offers one set of four glasses that are linked to the Samsung TV in the Learning Commons on the main level (2nd floor) of the Woodruff Main Library Building.

This set comes with 4 pairs of battery-operated 3D glasses in a box, each pair of glasses is 3 separate pieces (the glasses and 2 ear pieces).
