A nice set of summary statistics are presented as is a directory of important government officials. An essential guide. Older editions are located in the stacks, with the same call numbers.

Political Handbook of the World
ESSENTIAL!  Arranged alphabetically by country, includes a description of the country and an in-depth discussion of the politics and government of each country. Back issues in Stacks under call number JF37 .P61 (1975-most current).   Electronic version is part of the CQ Political Reference Suite.

    ESSENTIAL! These are great guides to contemporary political, economic, and social forces in most countries as well as links to the latest news concerning political and economic developments.  On the databases page, type in EIU, and then choose EIU Portal for access to these databases.
