Research Assignment

Researching and Finding Sources for Your Feature Story and Podcast

Select a topic that is feasible and realistic for these assignments and begin to develop expertise on your subject.

Based upon your research, write a 200-word story pitch about your feature and podcast topic. Your pitch should set out:

  • what you are proposing to find out and explain;
  • who or what will be the focus of your story;
  • what will be the narrative;
  • who are the main characters and significant players in the story;
  • whom you will interview;
  • recent developments that make the story timely and pertinent.

Deadline: Due Wednesday, October 12 at class time. Submit your source explanations and your pitch to Canvas.

FINDING DIGITAL AND WRITTEN SOURCES

Select a topic for your feature story and podcast and begin your research on that topic. Find an example of each type of source below, provide the URL, and explain briefly the identification of the source. Submit your list of sources to Canvas by the end of the class.
