Electronic copies of journal articles and book chapters from any of Emory Universities' eligible print collections can be requested by Emory University faculty, staff, and graduate students at no charge. Electronic Document Delivery (EDD) is hosted through Emory's Interlibrary Loan Interface, ILLiad. This service does not apply to resources available full-text online.
All faculty, staff, and student ILLiad user accounts are configured to receive articles electronically by default. If you do not wish to receive documents electronically, please contact your ILL office to request that your article delivery method be changed.
Users will be notified via e-mail when requested articles are available for viewing. To view electronic document(s), logon to ILLiad, click on the Electronic Documents button under View/Edit, and click on the View link for the document you wish to view. Clicking on the Transaction Number link will display details of your request.
The documents will be in PDF format, so you will need to have Adobe Acrobat Reader (version 4.0 or higher) installed in order to view them. All library and computer lab workstations already have this software loaded. If you need to download or update Acrobat Reader on your personal workstation, you can do so for free via the Adobe® download site.
Electronic documents will be available via ILLiad for 30 days or until they are deleted by the user, whichever is earlier. If you accidentally delete an article that has been posted less than 30 days, contact your library's ILL office immediately to restore access to the article.
